Holly was married three times. Her first marriage was to actor Danny Quinn. Both married in 1992, but divorced after two years in 1993. She first met Jim Carrey in 1994 during the auditions for Ace Ventura Pet Detective. Though she was not offered the part of Ace Ventura Pet Detective, they formed a bond when they worked on Dumb and Dumber. They were married in 1996. After a short wedding, they split in 1997. They got married in 1997. Francis Greco who was born Canadian. After 2008, when she was married to Greco she became an Canadian citizen. They divorced in 2014. Holly is a resident of Oakville, Ontario, Canada, with her three children. Holly, Grant and their families each created their own A Fund in 1992 at Hobart and William Smith Colleges to honor her brother Alexander. Holly described him as the "boy with a lot of hopes, dreams, plans and hopes". In the year 1992, Holly, her father Grant and their families established the A Fund in Hobart and William Smith Colleges in honor of Alexander, who according to Holly "was an individual who was full of dreams, hopes, and goals."

Alaina Suddeth, born September 8, 1994, at Rossville Georgia to Kristy Suddeth, and J. J. Suddeth. Alaina began singing at the age of three years old. As a member of a children's choir, and also at an annual retreat that featured karaoke, Alaina sang her first shows on stage. She performed in the restaurants, in churches, at events for families, and anywhere within 30 miles from her home. Alaina was the winner of her first Southern Stars Pageant talent contest at age 8. The winner was selected to perform on the Kids Stage of Chattanooga's Riverbend Festival. Performances on the stage continued to be enjoyed until the 12th birthday of her after which she was named an award-winning participant in a contest which enabled her be on stage. She traveled to Orlando, Florida to participate in the American Model and Talent Competition. The competition was won by the young lady, who beat 1,500 other kids. Alaina sang in the Georgia Country Gospel Music Association's youth chorus. Alaina was 12 when she first made and many subsequent trips to Nashville. She also performed in bars in the area, such as Tootsie's on Broadway. Alaina, who was born in 1989, took home the WinniSTAR Talent competition, which was open to young people who live at Lake Winnepesaukah. Alaina was in awe of singing by her aunt, Holly Witherow, who was diagnosed with the brain tumor. Prior to Idol, Alaina worked at CiC's Pizza. She went to Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe in Fort Oglethorpe Georgia and also was a cheerleader.
